Based in London Caroline has for many years juggled her practice alongside a career as a specialist museum exhibition designer. This accounts for her abiding interest in museums and her attraction to historic medical collections as a tool for primary research. She assimilates the imagery she discovers in such collections through observational drawing. This gives her a deep sense of connection with the people whose remains she is drawing the vast majority of whom are anonymous.
When working at the British Museum she designed the Egyptian Funerary Archaeology Galleries (the mummy galleries) and the Enlightenment Gallery. Most recently she was Head of Design at the Natural History Museum. Originally trained in Theatre Design at Central Saint Martins, having now completed an MA Fine Art Painting at Camberwell Colege of Arts, her intent is to concentrate on her practice full-time
